We manufacture animal premixes to customer formulations and requirements, adhering to the highest international quality standards. We’re in the top four suppliers, by volume, in South Africa’s ruminant and swine markets.
Our core competency lies in blending nutritional supplements comprising vitamins, minerals and amino acids for our customers. In addition to our own premixes, we import and supply feed-grade commodities and represent international market leaders in animal health additives, nutraceuticals and specialty veterinary products.
We distribute nationwide from Burgersdorp and Johannesburg with an export partner managing distribution into the rest of Sub-Saharan Africa. The two Burgersdorp manufacturing sites have three production plants in total. The main site has a state-of-the-art stainless steel, fully gravitational closed system as well as a macro (additives) mixing facility. Our second location houses a dedicated antibiotic-free plant that removes the potential for cross-contamination of lonophores which can be detrimental to companion animals.
AECI Animal Health’s FAMI-QS certification guarantees strict standards, with in-house quality management and testing facilities.

SA Premix was founded in 2002 in the picturesque town, Burgersdorp, Eastern Cape. Our first delivery was to a client in the Western Cape on 11 November 2004.
In 2020 we rebranded as AECI Animal Health and are part of the AECI Agri Health Pillar.
AECI Animal Health is a key role player in the South African animal feed industry. We specialise in manufacturing animal feed premixes of the highest quality for all species.
