AECI Mining Chemicals has the largest mining chemicals manufacturing facility on a single site in the southern hemisphere and a state-of-the-art R&D centre where world-class specialists deliver innovative solutions not only for today’s mineral extraction challenges but also for mining of the future. The business offers a full service model as part of a value-added offering that incorporates not only chemical solutions but also equipment installation at brown or greenfield projects.
We employ 400 people and, in addition to South Africa, we’re in Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe and the DRC. Our next target markets are in Ghana, Morocco and Tanzania as well as Australasia and South America.
AECI Mining Chemicals adds value in the beneficiation of primarily PGMs, diamonds, coal, gold, uranium and base metal ores. Most our products are used in the froth flotation and tailings treatment sectors of the mining industry. The portfolio includes specialty liquid thio mineral collectors, mineral froth formation chemicals, unwanted gangue mineral depressants, polyacrylamide thickening polymers and tailings polymeric rheology modifiers.
The service offering includes:
flocculant dosage optimisation through dosage control equipment
flocculant inventory monitoring remotely by telemetrics for in-time deliveries
bulk flocculant deliveries by pneumo dispatcher with no physical handling
periodic settling tests and flocculant screenings
The equipment we provide optimises reagent make-up, removes the need to handle the product on-site, negates the requirement for warehousing and removes costs associated with the disposal of packaging materials such as bulk bags, shrink wrapping and pallets.
